  • The Benefits of A2 Proteins in Goat’s Milk

Milk is made up of different kinds of proteins, the most prominent being A1 and A2 beta-casein. Unlike cow’s milk, which typically contains a mix of both proteins, goat milk is predominantly composed of A2 beta-casein, the same protein found naturally in breast milk. This means that HiPP Goat German and Dutch are structurally closer to the protein profile of human milk, which can make the transition to formula easier for little ones who were breastfed.

Notably, some infants may have difficulty digesting formula containing A1 beta-casein because it releases a protein component, BCM-7, which is associated with gastrointestinal discomfort. In contrast, A2 milk formula offers a unique advantage: it does not produce BCM-7. As such, HiPP Goat milk can support greater digestive ease and more comfortable feedings.

That said, it's important to note that A2 milk is not a solution for all digestive issues, and goat milk formulas remain unsuitable for babies with lactose intolerance or cow's milk protein allergy (CMPA).

    Goat Milk Benefits

Why is HiPP Goat Milk Exceptional?

HiPP Goat formulas offer premium nutrition crafted from carefully selected ingredients and in accordance with strict European quality standards. Whether opting for the German or Dutch range, parents can trust that these formulas are designed to support healthy growth and development during infancy. Here, we explore the quality standards and key ingredients of these popular goat milk formulas.

    Organic Certification

HiPP goat milk formula ingredients are certified EU organic, meaning they're produced according to strict organic farming standards without GMOs, synthetic pesticides, mineral fertilizers, or growth hormones. The formula is also made without artificial additives or refined sugars, reflecting the brand’s commitment to carefully selected, high-quality ingredients.

    Prebiotics for Digestive Health

To support happy tummies, HiPP goats milk formula is made with galactooligosaccharides (GOS). These prebiotic fibers come from organic lactose and serve to nourish the beneficial bacteria in your baby’s gut. GOS is one of the most extensively studied prebiotics in infant nutrition, with numerous studies showing its effectiveness in supporting balanced gut health and reducing episodes of colic.

    Gentle Lactose-Only Carbohydrates

In keeping with the brand’s knack for crafting breast milk-like formulas, the only carbohydrate you’ll find in HiPP organic goat formula is lactose, which is also the primary source of carbs in human milk. Research consistently shows that lactose is the ideal energy source for most healthy infants. It provides sustained energy without blood sugar spikes, aids calcium absorption, and contributes to gut microbiome health.

    With Critical Essential Fatty Acids

This goat’s milk-based organic formula is rich in omega-3 fatty acids (DHA) derived from fish oil and (ALA) from vegetable oils. Stage PRE also includes ARA, an omega-6 fatty acid from M. Alpina oil. This ensures your baby receives healthy fats to support brain and vision development.

Vitamins and Minerals For Complete Nutrition

HiPP goat milk formula is fortified with a diverse blend of essential vitamins and minerals. To name just a few of these nutritional powerhouses, the formula contains vitamin A, vitamin C, vitamin D, calcium, and iron, which together help strengthen bones, support brain development, and aid immunity. This blend of micronutrients is crucial to supporting healthy growth and development in infancy.

    HiPP Goat Formula Stages

    HiPP Goat Formula Stages

HiPP formula is offered in distinct stages that accompany your little one from birth all the way into toddlerhood. Their organic goat milk formulas come in slightly different stages depending on the chosen country version. Here, we break down the differences between each one.

HiPP Goat Milk Formula Stage PRE

HiPP Goat Milk Formula PRE infant formula is suitable from birth to 6 months of age. As the first step in feeding, it has all the nutrients your baby needs to thrive during this critical period. As a complete source of nutrition, it can complement or replace breastfeeding as needed. Stage PRE is only available in the German line.

HiPP Goat Milk Formula Stage 1

HiPP Dutch Goat Stage 1 is also an infant formula designed as a complete source of nutrition for babies from 0 to 6 months of age. Families can choose to feed their little ones the formula in combination with breastfeeding or to replace breast milk. Stage 1 has a virtually identical recipe to Stage PRE but is exclusively available in the Dutch range.

HiPP Goat Milk Formula Stage 2

HiPP German Goat Formula Stage 2 and HiPP Dutch Goat Formula Stage 2 follow-on formulas are suitable from 6+ months of age as part of a mixed diet that includes milk feeds and solid foods. The composition of this HiPP goats milk formula is tailored to weaning-age babies, offering increased amounts of iron to support their changing nutritional needs. This represents the final goat formula stage for both German and Dutch versions.

HiPP Goat Milk: Dutch vs. German

HiPP offers country-specific versions of their formulas, with slight variations in packaging and labelling depending on the market. When it comes to their goat formulas, the Dutch and German recipes are virtually identical, providing the same high-quality nutritional profile.

The main differences are the format and language: the German version comes in 400g cardboard boxes with labels written entirely in German, while the Dutch version comes in more durable 400g metal cans with packaging in both Dutch and French. Both options are made to HiPP’s strict organic quality standards, ensuring clean, gentle nutrition for babies.
