When can I start the evening meal? If the milk meal at lunchtime is switched to a menu with vegetables and meat, we recommend replacing the evening breastfeeding or bottle feeding with a HiPP milk-cereal porridge. There is a reason for introducing the milk porridge as the second complementary meal when the child eats a complete meal for lunch – babies quickly get used to the milk porridge and then no longer want to eat vegetables and meals at lunchtime. The change from mother's milk or milk formula to the tart vegetable taste is a big step for many children and they need a certain amount of time to get used to it. Therefore, the midday meal should be changed before the milk porridge is fed in the evening.
How is milk porridge prepared? Water must be freshly boiled for each porridge meal. After boiling, let it cool down to about 50°C. Put the amount of powder - according to the dosing table on the packaging - into a wide dish. Then measure out the boiled water - also according to the dosing table - add it to the pap powder and stir well. Then let the porridge swell until the desired texture is reached.
