HiPP Stage 2 organic formula is designed to be a nutritional stepping stone in your baby's feeding journey. An infant's growing body needs customized nutrition, which is why HiPP Stage 2 formula has a higher quantity of micronutrients like Vitamin D and macronutrients like organic vegetable oils to meet their increased energy demands. As motor skills develop and curiosity expands, HiPP Stage 2 formula is there to support your little one!
With over a decade of expertise under its belt, HiPP takes pride in offering products that not only meet but exceed the nutritional baseline needed for optimal growth and development. That's why HiPP's Organic Combiotic infant formula powder is carefully crafted using only the best ingredients for babies. Since breastmilk naturally changes in composition over time, it makes sense that their formula should evolve as well!
HiPP Stage 2 Combiotic formula is made with a base of organic skim milk and is intended to be used as part of a mixed diet of bottle feeds and weaning from 6 months of age. During this time, as you ease into the journey of introducing solid foods, the bulk of your child's calories will still come from formula or human milk. Think of HiPP stage 2 as the base of your baby's diet, but now with more room for exploring exciting new flavours and textures.
To accommodate a baby's needs from 6 months of age, HiPP baby formula Stage 2 adjusts its recipe in the following ways:
To mimic the natural changes in breast milk, HiPP adjusts the casein-to-whey ratio of organic skim milk in their Stage 2 formula to a balanced mix of 60% casein and 40% organic whey. This optimal balance, as seen in mature human milk, supports the increased energy needs of infants and ensures that HiPP organic formula Stage 2 keeps them full and satisfied longer!
At this time of development, certain micronutrients like potassium citrate need to increase. To accommodate this, HiPP includes nourishing ingredients like iron in the form of iron sulfate to support brain development and Vitamin D for improved calcium absorption and bone strength.
HiPP organic formula is also loaded with Omega-3 and Omega-6, containing both DHA & ARA, which are derived from fish oil and Mortiella Aplina oil. The rest of the fats in HiPP formula come from organic sunflower oil, rapeseed oil, and sustainably sourced organic palm oil. Other vitamins and minerals that you will find in HiPP formula include sodium citrate, vitamin E, vitamin C, Magnesium Carbonate, and Manganese Sulfate.
HiPP formula Stage 2 is offered in a variety of milk types. Moreover, HiPP organic formula has been specially adapted for different countries. Here, we cover the differences between these country-specific formulations and offer insights into HiPP specialty formulas to help guide you toward the right HiPP formula Stage 2 for your baby!
HiPP offers three unique organic formula lines: HiPP German, HiPP Dutch, and HiPP UK. Each HiPP formula Stage 2 offers the same high-quality organic formula with slight adjustments made to accommodate regional tastes and regulations for infant nutrition. With the exception of HiPP specialty formulas, all HiPP baby formulas are certified organic by the European Union.
HiPP UK Stage 2 organic formula is made in Germany and packaged in the UK. It is starch-free and contains all of the nutrients mentioned above, including prebiotics (organic galacto oligosaccharides); however, it omits probiotics.
HiPP Dutch Stage 2 is created in Germany, but it is packed in the Netherlands. HiPP Dutch stage 2 formula is starch-free and contains prebiotics and lactobacillus fermentum hereditum®, which are natural probiotic lactic acid cultures originally extracted from real breast milk.
HiPP German Stage 2 is both made and packaged in Germany. HiPP formula Stage 2 HiPP formula comes in two versions, the difference between them being that one contains starch and the other is starch-free HiPP No Starch Stage 2. Both versions are enriched with probiotics and prebiotics.
If cow's milk isn't your baby's preference, HiPP also carries a gentle goat milk formula, which is made to soothe sensitive stomachs. This is because goat milk is naturally composed of a simple A2 protein structure, which, compared to cow's milk, is often digested more quickly, easily, and completely by babies.
HiPP's goat milk is made with a base of organic skimmed goat milk, and like human milk, it contains prebiotic galacto-oligosaccharides (GOS) to support digestive health further and boost the immune system.
HiPP's goat milk line is made following EU organic guidelines, which means that the use of GMOs, harmful pesticides, hormones, steroids, or antibiotics (unless necessary for the animal's health) is prohibited throughout the production process.
HiPP Goat Stage 2 is free from both starch and maltodextrin, meaning it relies solely on organic lactose as the main carbohydrate. It also makes it more gentle on your baby's tummy! HiPP Goat formula Stage 2 is packed full of essential fatty acids, vitamins and minerals and contains an increased iron content compared to HiPP formula Stage 1.
For babies who require a more specialized diet, HiPP has created a range of products to be used in place of a conventional cow's or goat's milk formula. Special HiPP formula should only be used after receiving approval from your baby's healthcare practitioner. This is especially relevant for HiPP HA formula, as further consultation is encouraged to determine whether it is suitable for a baby with a suspected or diagnosed cow's milk protein allergy (CMPA).
HiPP Comfort is a special all-stage formula made to support babies from birth to 12 months of age who suffer from digestive issues such as lactose-related 3-month colic, flatulence, and constipation. HiPP comfort supports natural digestion in three ways. First, it has a base of skim milk that has been broken down - through a process called hydrolyzation - into a more simple molecular form, increasing digestibility and lessening allergens. It also has a reduced lactose content and contains probiotics and prebiotics.
HiPP Anti-Reflux is a formula for all stages intended to help manage reflux and regurgitation from birth up until your child turns 1. This common tummy trouble for newborns can sometimes be worsened by regular cow's milk formulas, which is why HiPP has formulated this product with a natural thickening agent derived from carob fruit. This thickener is designed to reduce regurgitation and vomiting while also acting as a natural dietary fiber.
With a base of extensively hydrolyzed cow milk proteins that are low in allergens, alongside a combination of prebiotics and probiotics, this formula is gentle and effective at reducing allergic reactions in babies with milk protein sensitivities and a family history of allergies. HiPP HA is offered in two country versions, German and Dutch.
HiPP HA Stage 2 German and HiPP HA Dutch Stage 2 are suitable from 6-12 months and contain higher volumes of certain micro and macronutrients compared to Stages PRE and 1. This includes DHA, ALA, and iron to support brain development and vitamins C and D for improved calcium absorption, immunity, and bone strength.
HiPP formula ranks among some of the best. With an extensive range of catered formulas made to suit the stages and needs of every baby, you're likely to find the perfect formula match for your little one.
We could go on and on about why we love HiPP formulas, but let's just say this. When a formula is backed by strict EU guidelines, free of corn syrup, and made with an innovative breast-milk-like formulation, a simple lactose base and is free from chemicals, pesticides and antibiotics, what's not to love?
