Ingredients - The respective countries' formula regulations determine the different compositions of Dutch, German, and Global Holle formulas. While Holle Goat Dutch and German incorporate maltodextrin and starch to complement lactose from Stage 2 and above, Holle goat milk Global is entirely based on lactose across all stages to best meet various international nutritional guidelines. Moreover, while Holle Goat Dutch and German only include ARA in Stages PRE and 1, Holle Goat Global includes this omega-6 fatty acid across all Stages.

Packaging - Holle goat milk formulas also vary in terms of packaging. While Holle Goat Dutch is offered in 800g tin cans, the German and Global versions are offered in 400g cardboard boxes.

Stages - Holle Goat is offered in different stages depending on your chosen version. Holle Goat Stage PRE

Holle goat milk formula Stage PRE is suitable for newborns from birth. This infant formula is lactose-only, with no complementary carbohydrates like starch or maltodextrin, ensuring it’s extra gentle on newborn bellies. It is a complete source of nutrition that can be used as an alternative or supplement to breast milk and includes both DHA (omega-3) and ARA (omega-6).

Holle Goat Stage 1

Stage 1 Holle goat's milk formula is intended for babies between 0 and 6 months of age. Like Stage PRE, Holle goat milk Stage 1 is a lactose-only infant formula without starch or maltodextrin and is suitable as an alternative or supplement to breast milk. It contains both DHA (omega-3) and ARA (omega-6). Holle Goat Global Stage 1, Holle Goat German Stage 1, and Holle Goat Dutch Stage 1 are all lactose-only recipes. 

Holle Goat Stage 2 

Holle goat milk formula Stage 2 is a follow-on formula suitable for babies between 6 and 12 months of age once they have begun a mixed weaning diet. This goat's milk stage contains slightly higher iron, vitamin C, and vitamin D levels than Stages PRE and 1. 

Holle Goat Dutch Stage 2 and Holle Goat German Stage 2 contain added starch and maltodextrin to make the texture more creamy and satiating for older babies. However, if you prefer to avoid complementary carbohydrates, Holle Goat Global Stage 2 only contains lactose, making it a gentler alternative.  

While Stage 2 of Holle Goat German and Dutch are formulated with DHA, Holle Goat Global further balances the fatty acid spectrum by including DHA and ARA.

Holle Goat Stage 3

Holle Stage 3 of goat's milk formula is a follow-on formula tailored to meet the nutritional needs of babies from 10 months of age in the Dutch and German versions. 

The Global version, on the other hand, is a toddler formula meant for little ones from 12 months onwards. Due to special Demeter regulations, formulas for ages 12+ months do not qualify for the Demeter certification, but rest assured, Holle Goat Global Stage 3 is still certified European organic! 

Finally, while DHA is included in Holle Goat Dutch Stage 3 and Holle Goat German Stage 3, Holle Goat Global uses DHA and ARA for a balanced fatty acid content. 

Holle Goat Stage 4 

Holle goat milk formula Stage 4 is only available in the German version. This toddler formula is suitable from 12 months of age and onwards. Toddler formula can be particularly useful for picky eaters as it's packed with vitamins and minerals that may be lacking from their family diet. As per Demeter guidelines on toddler formula, this Stage is not Demeter-certified but remains European organic. Furthermore, Holle Goat German Stage 4 includes DHA but not ARA.
